Coronavirus impact on 83 film: Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone starrer postponed

The coronavirus that is spreading rapidly in India has claimed 5 lives among the 201 confirmed cases. Owing to this private and government sectors have given their employees work from home till 31st March. With this entertainment industry has also shut down to avoid the spread of the deadly virus and this has caused heavy loss to them.

Earlier we told you that Baaghi 3 and Angrezi Medium suffered a grave loss at the Box-office while the upcoming films that were supposed to release in March were postponed including Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. However, now we feel that even the April releases will be postponed as the most anticipated film 83 has been postponed.


Confirming the news Ranveer took to his Instagram handle and dropped a message that read, “In the wake of the risks posed by the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and growing health concerns, the release of 83 has been put on hold. We will take a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions return to normal.”

Makers have not announced the new release date but we believe that we have to wait for long and they have decided to release the film when pandemic subsides and takes a back seat.

Talking about the film, it showcases India’s iconic victory at the 1983 World Cup at the Lords Garden. The film helmed by Kabir Khan also stars Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna, Pankaj Tripathi, Harrdy Sandhu among others.
