Nirbhaya Case Update: From Taapsee Pannu to Riteish Deshmukh, celebs react on convicts hanging

2012 Delhi gangrape-murder case shook everyone across the nation. After 8-long years the girl who was brutally raped in the moving bus has finally got the justice. Today i.e on 20th March the parents of Nirbhaya saw the new morning when the four accused named Aksya Thakur, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Thakur and Mukesh Singh were hanged to death in Tihar Jail at 5: 30 am.

As soon as the news started doing rounds social media erupted with many saying Justice has finally served. Bollywood celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen among others took to their Twitter handle to share their thoughts on the same.


Taking to her Twitter handle Taapsee wrote, “It’s done. Finally. I hope the parents can finally sleep slightly better tonight after YEARS. It’s been a long long battle for them. Asha Devi 🙏🏼”

Sushmita Sen wrote, “A Mother’s resilience 🙏 Asha Devi sees it through!! Finally some justice!! #Nirbhaya Dugga Dugga 🙏”

Meanwhile, a video of Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi is doing rounds on social media platform where she can be heard saying that she hugged her daughter’s photo right after the Supreme Court dismissed the plea to seek to stay on the execution of the death row convict Pawan Gupta.

As per reports, 6 convicts were held in Nirbhaya rape and murder case, however, one of them was juvenile who was released after 3 years in a reform facility. While one named Ram Singh allegedly committed suicide in 2013.
