It is a truth universally acknowledged that former adult film star and Ek Paheli Leela actress, Sunny Leone, has been controversy's favourite child ever since she decided to move to India. While her entry into Bollywood has raised many hackles, currently it is CPI leader Atul Anjan's remarks on her Manforce condom ad that has social media all in a 'Twitter'.

Most of us are so caught up with this 33-year-old Indo-Canadian actor's past, that we barely appreciate how astute a businesswoman she's proved herself to be. Born Karenjit Kaur Vohra, Sunny entered the adult film industry at the age of 19, casting aside her career as a pediatric nurse for which she was studying. She's been asked why she chose this career path time and again and the answer has remained the same - it made sense commercially. Not only did Sunny star in adult films, she also owns her own adult film website.

In 2008, she quit the porn industry and started her own production company in partnership with Daniel Weber, to whom she's now married. It is speculated that Sunny's current net worth is somewhere between $2.5-3 million.

In an interview with The Times of India, Sunny talks about her experience of running a company. "I ran a company that took care of the deals I sealed with firms to sell and share my content online and to other media (agencies). Running a company was hard work. I'd work for about 60-70 hours a week," she explained.

Sunny guest-starred in #BiggBoss Season 5 in 2012 and has since then officially moved to India. She's done eight films in Bollywood so far including big banner movies like Jackpot, Ragini MMS 2 and Jism 2, and has carved a niche for herself in the world of Kapoors and Khans.
