Ranbir Kapoor - Katrina Kaif's Jagga Jasoos to release on 7 April, 2017

After being in the news for the constantly delay in its release date, the Anurag Basu-directorial, Jagga Jasoos, starring Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor is finally slated to hit the big screen on 7 April, 2017. After striking gold at the Box Office with The Jungle Book in April, producers Disney UTV have decided to bank on the lucky release slot.

Here's what we can expect from the detective drama:

• With Anurag Basu at the helm, Jagga Jasoos' screenplay will definitely be laced with subtle humour, just like his earlier film, Barfi.

• Jagga Jasoos might just give the industry a detective franchise on the lines of animated series, Tintin. There are already talks about a Jagga Jasoos trilogy, however a lot depends on how the first part fares at the ticket window.

• Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif on the big screen after Raajneeti is another factor that one should look forward to.

• Jagga Jasoos is touted to be a musical with over 15 songs in the album. With Pritam twirling the baton, we can expect a cracker of an album from the detective drama. Remember Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani?

• The film marks Ranbir Kapoor's debut as a producer, thus becoming one of the youngest Bollywood actors to venture into film production.
