Telly actor Kiku Sharda aka Palak of Gutthi-Palak duo on Comedy Nights with Kapil has been arrested on 13 January for mimicking Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan on the show. Kaithal's chief justice magistrate, Manjit Kaur remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days, TOI reports.

It all started with Singh's followers filing a complaint against the actor on 1 January, stating that he had hurt religious sentiments with his stage act on the show. He was booked under Section 295 A of the Indian Penal Code (outraging religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious belief).

The episode in question was aired on 27 December 2015.

Before being taken to the court, Kiku had over Twitter apologised for his act. He even said that he had no intentions of hurting anyone and whatever he did was a part of the script that had been given to him.
