This year, Ganesh Chaturthi, the Hindu festival celebrated to honour Lord Ganesha falls on 17 September. Every year, this festival is celebrated with gusto across India.
On this festival, people bring Ganesha idols to their homes or keep them in 'pandals' and worship them. After this, the idols are immersed in a water body after ten days.
Preparation for the festival begins months in advance when artists and sculptures start working on creating colorful idols.
