Rangoli Chandel slams Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone who is gearing up for her upcoming film Chhapaak and was there in Delhi for its promotion, paid a surprise visit at JNU yesterday to express solidarity. Many celebs including Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhasker, Anubhav Sinha, Vishal Dadlani, Richa Chadha among others lauded the actress for her brave move. However, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel slammed the actress tagging her move as an act of publicity stunt.

Rangoli took to her Twitter handle to slam the actress and in series of tweet she wrote, “Many people are rattled with her support to tukde gang, no need to overreact, it’s her prerogative to promote her film, this has always been the pattern of filmi people, if you fail to see it it’s not their fault, let them do what they want to, we shall do what we think is right”

She further went on to say that Deepika is not interested in JNU students rather only in money. Later in her tweet, she lauded the actress for coming out openly to support the students but also jested that the actress has simply done PR at JNU.

Well, Rangoli’s tweet towards Deepika is contradicting to the one she shared in the morning. Earlier today, Rangoli shared a video wherein we can see Panga actress Kangana lauding Deepika and Meghna Gulzar for Chhapaak. She said that the trailer of the film reminded her of Rangoli’s struggle from the same incident. Rangoli thanked the team for taking up an acid attack subject for the film.

Talking about the film Chhapaak it is based on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film which is helmed by Meghna Gulzar is slated to release on 10th January this year.
