Chhappak actress Deepika Padukone breaks silence on JNU Violence, CAA Protest

Deepika Padukone who is all set to hit the theatres with her upcoming film Chhappak also starring Vikrant Massey. In the film, the actor will portray the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. As the actress is set to represent on one of the concerned issues of the country so in recent interview Deepika was asked on the current issue that is going on in the country i.e JNU violence and CAA protest.

The country is going through a major crisis wherein JNU students and teachers were brutally attacked by the outsiders allegedly ABVP people. As per KoiMoi, Chhappak actress shared her opinion on the current situation and said that she is glad that the people are coming together and standing united.


She further added, “It’s nice to see people coming out on the streets. I feel proud that we aren’t scared to express ourselves and the fact that people are voicing their opinion whether on the streets or from their homes. If we want to see any change in our life or our society, it is extremely important to keep all points of view on the table.”

 

Meanwhile, various celebs from the industry have also condemned the JNU violence such as Taapsee Pannu took to her Twitter handle to share her opinion and wrote, “such as the condition inside what we consider to be a place where our future is shaped. It’s getting scarred forever. Irreversible damage. What kind of shaping up is happening here, it’s there for us to see.... saddening.”

Shabana Azmi too condemn the attack and tweeted, “This is beyond shocking! Condemnation is not enough. Immediate action needs to be taken against the perpetrators.”

 

Apart from them Richa Chaddha, Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar too condemned the violent act.
