The World Health Organisation on Tuesday stated that some treatments look to be limiting the acuteness or length of the coronavirus and stated that the body is concentrating on acquiring more knowledge about four or five of the most favourable ones.

"We do have some treatments that seem to be in very early studies limiting the severity or the length of the illness but we do not have anything that can kill or stop the virus," spokeswoman Margaret Harris said, alluding to the body's so-called Solidarity Trial of drugs against the disease.

"We do have potentially positive data coming out but we need to see more data to be 100% confident that we can say this treatment over that one," Margaret added.

The Geneva-based international public health organization is at the helm of global initiative to develop safe and effectual drugs, tests and vaccines to avert, diagnose and treat coronavirus. The respiratory disease brought about by the Covid-19 has affected 4.19 million individuals globally, as per Reuters census.

The WHO official voiced a note of caution around expectations for a vaccine, however, saying coronaviruses in general are "very tricky viruses" that are "difficult to produce vaccines against". More than 100 potential vaccines are being developed, including many in clinical trials.

In April, the WHO stated that a vaccine would take not less than 12 months. In the same month, the public health organisation also stated that there were 83 Covid-19 vaccines in development globally, with six candidates already in human trials, as drugmakers race to find a cure.

On top of that, as maintained by earlier reports, a Covid-19 vaccine trial by University of Oxford researchers aimed to get successful outcome by September, and production is already in progress.
