As crimes against women are increasing in Uttar Pradesh, questions are being raised about the Akhilesh-led UP government's constantly failure since the last four years in providing security to women in the state.

On 30 April, a 28-year-old Bravery Award winner alleged that she was gangraped by her husband and three others, in Kaptanganj village.

The victim, who was awarded the state government's Rani Lakshmi Bai Bravery Award last year, was allegedly raped by her husband and three others, Dayanand Mishra, SP said.

The woman was living with her parents since the last two to three years, when her husband asked her to meet him in an orchard, where she was allegedly raped by him and three others.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and the matter is being investigated, said the police.
