During the second ODI match in Nagpur, one of the fan broke through the security and ran on the ground to meet the former India captain MS Dhoni. As soon as Dhoni saw the invading fan he ran away from him before the fan finally got hold of him near the stumps. After hugging his heartthrob, the fan was escorted off the field.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni had an off day on the pitch as the veteran batsman was sent back to the pavilion for a golden duck by Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa. Dhoni had four half-centuries in the last four matches he played against Australia.

As far as the match is concerned, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. India set the target of 250 from 48.2 overs with Virat Kohli smashing his 40th ODI century. India openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan did not perform well with their bat. All-rounder Vijay Shankar was looking good as he made 41-ball 46 before he became prey of an unfortunate incident and was run-out by Adam Zampa.

In the second innings, Australia was looking good as their openers set the stage for them before two back to back wickets shifted the momentum in India’s favour. Opener Aaron Finch was dismissed lbw by Kuldeep Yadav for 53-ball 37, while Kedar Jadhav took Usman Khawaja’s wicket for 37-ball 38. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Shaun Marsh for 27-ball 16 in the 24th over.

Marcus Stoinis made an amazing half-century when Australia was under pressure. But Vijay Shankar came in and spoiled the party for Australia as he dismissed Stoinis in the first ball of the last over, Stoinis made 65-ball 52.
