Steve Smith has been performing exceptionally well in the ongoing Ashes series in England. Smith has amassed more than 715 runs from just 6 innings. On Saturday, the former Australian skipper took an incredible one-handed catch to dismiss Chris Woakes.

“He's just a freak. We were actually chatting about it out there at one point about batsmen like him seem to always be in the game,” said the Australian skipper Tim Paine.

“Cricketers like him, I think Stokes is the same, they're just in the contest and in the game all the time whether they are at slip or at point or with the ball or with the bat,” he said.

Steve Smith has scored more runs than any cricketer on both sides. His lowest score in the series so far in 80. Smith scorecard so far in the series reads 144, 142, 92, 211, 82 and 80.

Last week after winning the fourth Test, Australia wrapped up their first Ashes victory in England since 2001. World Cup winners England are aiming to restore pride in the final Test of the series even though Australia have already retained the Ashes urn.
