After directing two commercially successful films, Gunday and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ali Abbas Zafar is now gearing up for Sultan's release, the Salman Khan-starrer. The director believes that despite being a sports action film, at heart Sultan has a very strong love story.
In a group interaction with Catch, speaking about Sultan's USP, the director said,
"At heart there is a very strong love story but as a genre it is a sports action drama. I think the USP is that Salman has never been seen as an athlete, this is the first time you will see him as one. The character in Sultan is bigger than the stardom of Salman."

Apart from Sultan, exposure to Wrestling and Mix Martial Arts is another USP of the YRF sports drama.
"Secondly, the Indian audience has not seen wrestling and MMA to a certain extent on the big screen. I was just reading an article which said 'The future of every Martial Arts is Mix Martial Arts because it is an amalgamation of all kind of Martial Arts'," said Ali Abbas Zafar.
