Akshay Kumar's Airlift had a great start at the Box Office on its release on 22 January. The film raked in Rs 12.35 crore on its opening day - the collections have exceeded expectations considering the genre.

Airlift is performing well at the multiplexes in metros. However, the mass centres is what will decide the fate of the film.

Hopefully the positive word of mouth will translate into a good 20 to 25 per cent jump in the Box Office collections today. The film is looking to collect around Rs 37-38 crore in its opening weekend.

Last year's action hit, Baby, from a similar genre, raked in Rs 9.3 crore on its opening day.

It will be interesting to see how Airlift performs at the Box Office - considering the fact that initial word of mouth is positive. However, the flow of releases in second week could affect the collections of the film.
