Sensational badminton player PV Sindhu carved her way to a million hearts by becoming the first ever Indian women to claim a silver media at the Olympics.
Magical Sindhu united a cricket-loving nation to cheer for badminton with her battle for gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Both finalists, Sindhu and Spaniard Carolina Marin, showcased spectacular technique and power. Even though Marine got the better off Sindhu in the final set and the score 19 -21, 21-12, 21-15 stood in her favour, the Hyderabadi girl is being celebrated in all corners of the country.
This may be the first time in the history of Indian sports that the country rejoiced even after losing the final match. It can be rightly said the Golden girl didn't lose gold, but she won Silver.

Superstar Rajnikanth joined the parade of congratulating Sindhu and in a heart-warming gesture he declared himself a fan of the young player.
