Mumbai: 3-yr-old dies after grandfather throws him off sixth-floor balcony

In a shocking incident, the Mumbai police on 30 May arrested an 80-year-old man for allegedly killing his three-year-old grandson Mayuresh Kharche by throwing him from the balcony of his sixth floor flat.

The accused has been identified as Nivrutti Kharche.

According to a dna report, Kharche was reportedly unhappy with the way his daughter-in-law Surekha was taking care of him and the duo would quarrel frequently over this issue.

Reportedly, after an ugly fight with Surekha, Kharche took Mayuresh to the balcony and flung him him off the railing. The boy was rushed to VN Desai Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the doctors.

Surekha later registered a case against Nivrutti, accusing him of killing her son.

Following the complaint, police arrested the accused and have charged him for murder under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code.
