Maharashtra: At least 8 killed, 25 feared trapped after building collapses in Bhiwandi

A three-storey building collapsed in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra on 31 July, resulting in multiple casualties.

At least eight people have been declared dead while nine people were injured in the incident.

According to media reports, the building collapsed around 10 am. The fire and disaster management cell officials rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed.

The injured have been rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Gulzar Nagar, Bhiwandi.

Around 25 people were rescued from the debris by the officials from the fire brigade and disaster management cell. Rescue operations are underway.

The incident occurred a day after a three-storey Pathare House building in Girgaon collapsed on the adjacent building, trapping three people under the debris.
