Vim has hit a home run with its latest ad.
Sure, the idea is product promotion. Sure, it is playing on the sentiments of mothers everywhere. But it is also inspiring. It is a homage to those countless women who have given up their jobs to become mothers and then modified their dreams and aspirations to accommodate their kids.
The YouTube descriptor for the video sums it up astutely: "Being a mother is a full-time job and so is running a company."
It definitely is. And yet so many mothers juggle a job and their work like it's no big deal. This is not to shame the ones who didn't choose to have a child. Or the ones who gave up their jobs after the birth of their child. This is simply to acknowledge the jaw-dropping magnificence of a working mother.
The Vim advert gives us the story of Bayiravi who used to run a bakery shop before she became a mother. But after her son Advait was born, she started a baby-carrier/sling business, Kol Kol, which is named after the first words of her son.
