Agnipath Scheme 2022: Official notification released for Agniveer recruitment; check detailed information

Agnipath Scheme has received massive backlash from armed force aspirants ever since it launched on June 14, 2022. On Sunday, a senior Army officer clarified that the scheme will not be rolled back and said that it is the "only progressive step to make the country young".

Amid huge protests against the scheme, the Indian Army has released the recruitment rally notification for the 1st Agniveer Batch on its official website-- https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/.

According to the official notification, “Online registration is mandatory. All candidates to log in to the Join Indian Army website(joinindianarmy.nic.in). Registration will be opened from July 2022 onwards by respective AROs For AGNIVEER General Duty, AGNIVEER Technical, AGNIVEER Technical (Aviation/Ammunition Examiner), AGNIVEER Clerk/ Store Keeper Technical, AGNIVEER Tradesman 10TH PASS, and AGNIVEER Tradesman 8TH pass as per the ARO rally schedule."

Indian Army Agnipath Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the 1st batch of Indian Army Agnipath Recruitment 2022, candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification.

Indian Army Agnipath Education Qualification

• For Agniveer (General Duty) (All Arms)- Class 10th /Matric with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
• For Agniveer (Tech)- 10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
• For Agniveer Tech (Avn & Amn Examiner)- 10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
• For Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical (All Arms)- 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and a minimum 50% in each subject
• For Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms)10th pass- (a) Class 10th simple pass (b) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored in 33% in each subject.
• For Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms) 8th pass- (a) Class 8th simple pass (b) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored in 33% in each subject.

Indian Army Agnipath Age Limit

The minimum age limit required to apply for the posts under the Agnipath scheme is 17½ while the maximum age limit is 23 years.

Indian Army Agnipath: Pay, Allowances & Allied Benefits

(a) Agniveer Package.

(i) The pay & emoluments of Agniveers will be as given below:-

(aa) Year 1. Customised Package - ₹ 30,000/- (plus applicable allowances.)
(ab) Year 2. Customised Package - ₹33,000/- (plus applicable allowances.)
(ac) Year 3. Customised Package - ₹ 36,500/- (plus applicable allowances.)
(ad) Year 4. Customised Package - ₹ 40,000/- (plus applicable allowances.)

(ii) From the above package, 30% will be compulsorily deposited every month in a corpus which will be matched by the GOI. Balance amount less the corpus contribution will be the in-hand component.

Seva Nidhi Package:

On discharge at 4 years, the corpus of ₹5.02 lakhs will be matched by the GOI, and an amount of ₹10.04 lakhs and accrued interest will be given to the Agniveers.
