Income Tax raids on Tamil stars Vijay and Nayanthara's homes

According to reports, Income Tax officials have conducted raids on the residences of various actors from the Tamil film industry. The list includes actor Vijay, even as his film Puli, a fantasy-adventure directed by Chimbu Devan, is set to hit the screens on 1 October.

In Kochi, an IT team from Chennai is conducting the raid at the actor's flat. The raid started at around 8 am. According to officials, similar raids are being conducted at Nayanthara's flat in Chennai and Hyderabad as well.

Reportedly, her house in Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district may also be raided.

The residence of actress Samantha has also been raided by the income tax department.

Initial reports suggest that 25-30 to locations are being raided in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Hyderabad. However, officials declined to divulge further details.
