
Shankar and SS Rajamouli are two film-makers who have often pushed the boundaries in the movie-making business. While the records created by Baahubali on the global platform are still fresh in our minds, it seems Shankar is all set to take things to the next level with Robot 2.

According to reports, the Rajinikanth film will be made on a huge budget ranging in between Rs 250 to 300 crore thus being the costliest film to be made in India. While Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger is said to be charging Rs 100 crore to star in the film, Shankar is spending the rest to ensure the visual effects are at par with international standards.

While SS Rajamouli shot Baahubali in two parts at a whooping budget of Rs 250 crore, Shankar has gone a notch ahead by splurging around Rs 300 crore on a single film. In the past, the director revealed that the story of Robot 2 has a light Ramayana inspiration.

Rajinikanth recently visited Hollywood studios in LA to undergo a look test for Robot 2. The film is expected to go on floors mid-next year and will release in 2017.
