India is celebrating it's 71st Independence Day today. With a lot of wishes pouring in for the country, former Pakistan T20 skipper Shahid Afridi also wished the country for the same. The cricketer wished for peace, tolerance and love between the two nations as there was "no way to change neighbours".

The cricketer took to his Twitter account and posted his wish on his account. H e tweeted, "Happy Independence Day India! No way to change neighbours, let's work towards peace, tolerance and love. Let humanity prevail.# HopeNotOut,"

As soon as he posted his wish online, tweets started pouring in on the social media platform. The Twitterati seems to be quite impressed with the cricketer's wish for the country. Check out how the Tweeple reacted on the same.

Each year India and Pakistan celebrate their Independence Day with a gap of 24 hours. While Pakistan celebrate it on August 14, India celebrates the freedom on August 15. Both India and Pakistan have faced various conflicts and wars and recently the relationship between the two has turned sour with various ceasefire violations and terror attacks from the Pakistani side.
