Pakistan International Airlines flight from Lahore crashes near Karachi airport, 91 on board: Reports

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore has crashed near the airport in Karachi, just ahead of landing.

According to Pakistan media the flight, which had about 91 passengers on board, was an Airbus A320. There is no reports on any casualties thus far.


The airbus went down in a crowded residential area- Jinnah Garden area close to Model Colony in Malir.

The wreckage and many houses in the area are on fire, visuals by Pakistan media showed. Smoke could also be seen billowing in the sky.

 

As per the media in Pakistan the Army Quick Reaction Force and Pakistan Rangers are at the crash location to assist in relief and rescue operations.
