On Tuesday, Sushant Singh was removed as a host of Savdhaan India after he participated in the protest against Citizenship Amendment Act. Now, the actor has opened up the reason behind his exit from the show.

He said that it was unclear whether he was let go from Savdhaan India because of his participation in the ongoing protest against the CAA or there were some budget constraints, PTI reported.

Notably, Sushant Singh has been associated with the crime-based TV show since 2012. Sushant took to Twitter and shared the news about his exit from the show. In his tweet, he hinted that the reason behind his exit from the show may be his involvement in the CAA protest. He said it was a "small price" to pay for speaking up.

“And, my stint with Savdhaan India has ended,” Sushant wrote on the micro-blogging site.

In an interview with PTI, the actor said, “Contractually, it has to be a month's notice but to shoot during that time or not is up to them. I don't want to link both these things. I went for the protest and then in the night, I got the message that this will be my last day of the shoot. Maybe it is a coincidence, maybe this was planned. I don't want to speculate."

Earlier, Sushant had also raised his voice against #MeeToo, including the CAA protest.
He slammed Delhi Police crackdown on Jamia Millia Islamia University students. Sushant told PTI, he was informed about his last day of the shoot by the channel on Monday night.

"I was told there are budgetary constraints. They gave me this (reason) yesterday. I was not aware of budgetary issues earlier," he said.

He also added that he is not afraid of losing work for his participation as he believes it is a small price to pay.

Sushant also told PTI, the news of his exit became big after one of the users wrote on Twitter, “Is this is a price for speaking the truth?”

Meanwhile, Saavdhan India is currently telecasted on Star Bharat and the show maker is yet to respond to the news of Sushant's exit.
