Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has confirmed that the second edition of its wearable device, the Mi band 2, will be delayed by over a month.
The Mi Band 2 was expected to be unveiled on 10 May in the international market.
The chief executive officer of Xiaomi, Jun Lei via, confirmed the delay in a Weibo post, "Mi bracelet 2 production more difficult, it is estimated to be released one month later," the CEO said.
The wearable device is expected to be loaded with the specifications of its elder siblings, including LED display and less-dependency on the connected device. It will have many special health features as well. As rumoured, the band could also have a calling feature directly connected from the device.
A few days ago, the Xiaomi CEO was spotted wearing a band in his hand, believed to be the Mi Band 2.
The company has also announced that it would launch the Mi Max smartphone, the all-news MIUI 8 skin along with the Mi Band 2 in the 10 May event. However, after the delay, the company will only launch the OS skin and the smartphone in the event.
