The trailer of the much-awaited Telugu film, Premam, is finally out. The one-minute-and-forty-two-second trailer was launched at an event in Hyderabad on 20 September.

Premam, a remake of Malayalam blockbuster with the same title, stars Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. The film also stars Anupama Parameshwaran and Madonna Sebastain, who reprise their roles in the Telugu remake.

The trailer chronicles three phases in the life of a man and starts with a slide-show - mashup of the leading characters of the film with Naga Chaitanya romancing the three leading ladies -- Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parameshwaran and Madonna Sebastain. Naga Chaitanya aces as school student look though he failed to pull off the mature character in the trailer. However, many have pointed out that Chaitanya has failed to embody the charm that Nivin Pauly carried in the original Premam.

Shruti Haasan too, though looking extremely beautiful, is believed to be lacking the freshness Sai Pallavi brought to her character as a college teacher. Anupama and Madonna are looking different to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. The music and background score are nothing different from the original.

Malayalam film Premam was a landmark film for Nivin Pauly as the actor achieved super stardom with the film. The film stands third in the list of all-time Malayalam blockbusters. It will be interesting to see how Telugu Premam works for Naga Chaitanya. The film is slated to hit the screens on Dusshera, 7 October.
