But WHY did Kattapa kill Baahubali? SS Rajamouli adds to the suspense
Director, S S Rajamouli, who is done and dusted with over 50 percent of the mammoth film Baahubali: The Conclusion's shooting, in an interview with Rajeev Masand, revealed that it won't be possible for him to explain in one line as to why Kattapa killed Baahubali.

The director further explained that the one of the major sub-plots in the second part is spent explaining the politics behind this very question.

It is not that one day Kattapa woke up and decided to kill Baahubali. Why did he kill Baahubali is one of the major sub-plots of the film," said Rajamouli.
Rajamouli confirmed that there will be an attempt to release the film by the end of 2016, however if the same does not happen, the sequel will be a very early 2017 release.
