Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming mega-budget film, Kabali, is slated to hit the screens on Friday, 22 July 2016. Usually, the advance booking for films open one week prior to the release date. But in Kabali's case, at most of the cinemas, the advance online booking started on Monday and the response so far has been unprecedented.

Be it the cinemas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, or Karnataka, the advance booking of the Thalaiva starrer has topped all the big releases of the year, including the Vijay's Theri and Salman Khan starrer Sultan. In Chennai, almost every cinema is going to screen Kabali over the first weekend.

SPI cinemas, one of the most popular theatre chain in the city will be playing the film across 27 screens with more around 96 shows per day. Shockingly, not even a single seat is left in these 96 shows over the weekend as all of them have been sold out for the first three days. The film has still four days left for its theatrical release and one week left to complete the opening weekend.

Kabali's advance booking is terrific in Kerala and Karnataka as well

Advance booking for Kabali at Abirami cinemas started on Monday at 9 am and by 10 am all the tickets for the 16 shows for the opening weekend have been sold out. What's more? At most of the cinemas in Chennai, there are no tickets available across screens for the first three days and people are calling theatre owners to procure the tickets.

The advance booking response of Kabali is terrific in Kerala and Karnataka as well. At Bangalore multiplexes, the bookings have opened in only four theaters and all the tickets were sold out for the first day.
