It's known that Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is making her South film debut with Prabhas' upcoming film Saaho. The film, directed by Sujeeth Reddy, is said to be a Telugu-Hindi bilingual and will mark the Bollywood debut of Prabhas as well.
However, not many are aware that Saaho was initially offered to none other than current top actress of Bollywood Alia Bhatt.
Reportedly, the makers of Saaho wanted to cast Alia Bhatt opposite Prabhas in Saaho. In fact, director of Alia's debut film and hit maker Karan Johar too wanted her to sign the Prabhas film. But due to the less scenes for the female lead in Saaho, Alia refused to be a part of the film.
"Alia is currently busy setting a league of her own by taking up some really good performance -oriented roles. So at a stage when she’s setting such a bright example as far as her film choices are concerned, she doesn’t want to break the chain by doing a film where she is more like a supporting cast. Even her family approved of her decision and have no regrets whatsoever,” a source close to the actress said.
The role was eventually bagged by Shraddha Kapoor.
Tipped to be a fantasy action adventure, Saaho is reportedly being made for a whopping budget of Rs. 150 crore and will have a simultaneous release in Telugu, Hindi and Tamill languages.
