Two militants gunned down in Naugam sector near LoC in Kashmir

Two militants were reportedly gunned down in an encounter between security forces and terrorists at Naugam sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, on 26 May.

According to a local news portal, Kashmir Dispatch, the incident occurred when the army's 35 RR, guarding the Line of Control (LoC), stopped a group of five to six militants in the morning near Toot Mari Gali (TMG) in Naugam and the militants reportedly opened fire, leading to an encounter.

The daily quoted a police official as saying, "Two militants have been killed so far and the bodies are lying near the encounter spot."

The report added that additional reinforcements were rushed in soon after the gunbattle broke out.

This comes days after three terrorists were killed in a gunbattle in Lolab area of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir.
