Passenger succumbs to illness aboard Jet Airways Delhi-Doha flight

A passenger travelling on a Jet Airways flight 9W 202 from Delhi to Doha succumbed to a serious illness despite the flight being diverted to Karachi following the medical emergency.

Medical assistance was duly coordinated prior to the flight's arrival in Karachi. However, the passenger succumbed to his illness on board.

In a statement, the airlines said: "One of the guest developed a medical condition and the Captain decided to land at the nearest airport given the emergency. Medical assistance was duly coordinated prior to the flight's arrival, however, the guest succumbed on arrival in Karachi."

"The airline staff are making full arrangements to hand over the body to the authorities as per standard operating procedures. Jet Airways has taken utmost care to ensure that the family of the deceased are duly informed and is also providing all the required assistance," said the airline.
