Just two days after 18 soldiers were killed in a terror attack in the Uri district of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Lachipura area in the Uri sector on 20 September. Ten terrorists have been neutralised.

According to reports, at least 15 terrorists were engaged in an encounter with the security officials.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh chaired a high level security review meeting on 20 September to review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Strongly condemning the terror attack in Uri, Rajnath Singh on 18 September lashed out at Pakistan branding it a "terrorist state", adding that he was extremely disappointed by Islamabad's continued support to terrorism and terrorist groups.

The Uri attack took place during the early hours of 18 September in which 18 Army jawans were killed and four terrorists were neutralised.

The officials also recovered four AK 47 rifles, four Under Barrel Grenade Launchers and other war-like stores from the four slain terrorists.
