Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the NITI Aayog lecture series and said that the "transformation of India cannot happen without transformation of governance".
PM Modi asserted that India needs to transform rapidly. "My vision for India is 'Rapid Transformation', not gradual evolution. What we need is a collective opening of our minds, and to let in the new, global perspectives. Transformation of India cannot happen without transformation of governance. Transformation of governance can't happen without transformation of mindset. And that can't happen without transformative ideas," he said.
While speaking about the youth of India, PM Modi said, "Young people in India are thinking and aspiring so differently that the government can no longer afford to remain rooted in the past."
"We have to change laws, eliminate unnecessary procedures, speed-up processes and adopt technology," he added.
