In the alliance season ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, BSP supremo Mayawati has again targeted the Congress party, where the latter has invoked National Security Act in an incident of cow slaughter in Madhya Pradesh.
The BSP, which is in an alliance with the Congress in MP, has shown concern about the drastic step taken by the Kamal Nath government and Mayawati questioned the intentions of the Congress, stating “What is the difference between the BJP & Congress.”
Mayawati:Congress ki sarkaar ne purvvarti BJP ki tarah gau hatya ke shak mein musalmanon par barbar karyawahi ki. Ab UP BJP sarkaar ne AMU ke 14 students par deshdroh ka mukadma darz kiya.Dono sarkari aatank hai, ati nindniya. Mayawati said, “The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh like BJP slapped atrocious NSA (National Security Act) against Muslims for cow slaughter. Now the UP BJP government booked 14 Aligarh Muslim University students under notorious sedition charges. Both are example of state terror and condemnable. People should decide what is difference between the Congress and BJP government.”
This comes after an alliance between the two party’s in MP and indirectly supporting the Congress in UP. The Opposition seems to be ready to take on PM Narendra Modi under Grand Alliance but voices of dissent prevail.
Earlier, 3 persons were arrested in Madhya Pradesh for for allegedly killing cows and NSA was invoked. Again, Mayawati mentioned in her attack over Congress that 14 students of the Aligarh Muslim University have been booked under the sedition charges for raising anti-India slogans.
Meanwhile, it was in January 2019 that BSP and SP formally announced their alliance for the upcoming elections but on the question of Congress being a part of it, Mayawati had said, “there is no benefit in any tie-up with the Congress as its votes are not transferable.”
