J&K: One terrorist killed, search operation underway to smoke out hiding terrorists

A terrorist was neutralised by the security forces during the ongoing search operation in Wader Bala forests in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara district today.

Two militants are believed to be trapped, as the security forces are closing in on them.

A gun battle had broken out on 10 October between militants and security forces after which a cordon and search operation was launched. According to reports, Army's 21 RR, 6 RR and the police have launched massive searches in several forest areas connecting Hafruda area for last several days since four Army personnel were killed in an attack on 5 October in Tilpathri forest area.

One militant was killed in Dardpora area of Lolab on 5 October.
