Polling for Maharashtra and Haryana assembly election has begun today at 7 am. The voting for the two assemblies is being conducted in a single phase on October 21. There will be a tough contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress for 288 seats in Maharashtra while 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana.
The voting for the respective assembly constituencies will conclude at 6 pm today.
In Maharashtra, the major parties contesting in the elections are the BJP, the Shiv Sena, the Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party. While in Haryana, competition for 90 seats is between the BJP, the Congress and the Jannayak Janata Party.
The result for both assembly elections will be declared on October 24.
As per the expectation, several people will cast their votes for the first time. Before going to the respective poll booths, people could check their names in the voter list via online mode.

Maharashtrian voters can check whether their names are on the voter list or not in the following way:
1. Visit the official website of Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 at https://ceo.maharashtra.gov.in/.
2. Candidates will find an option on the home page Find Name in Voter List.
3. Click on the link, you will be directed to a new page.
4. Search your name in Maharashtra Assembly Elections website in the following two ways:
1. Name wise (District and Assembly)
2. By using an ID card
People who are going to polling today do not forget to carry their voter ID card or election card. In the Maharashtra election, a total of 3,237 candidates are contesting elections on 288 constituencies. Around 96,661 polling booths have been installed in the state.
Haryana Assembly Elections 2019
Voters can visit the official website at https://ceoharyana.gov.in/. After visiting the official website, people can click on the find name in the voter list option shown on the website and enter the required details asked on the page.
