The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has won the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election by winning three posts out of four posts.

ABVP, the student’s wing of the BJP’s ideological parent RSS, has won the posts of DUSU president, Vice-president and joint secretary whereas the Congress’s students’ wing National Students' Union of India (NSUI) could able to won the secretary's post.

After the result, Congress’ ideological party NSUI got a clear defeat in the election. The results have brought a cheer on the face of BJP supporters.

Reportedly, the election of DUSU and Lok Sabha have a coincidental link. Yes, from the past five elections, the party which won the DUSU elections also win the Lok Sabha election next year. Let’s have a look at the DUSU elections which were held in 1997, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013.

This year’s result of DUSU also similar with the 2013 elections.

In 2013 elections, the ABVP has won the posts of president, vice-president and joint secretary. While in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi-led BJP had won the elections and defeated Manmohan Singh-led UPA government.

Modi’s magical win has brought the tsunami after he bagged 325 seats out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. The BJP alone won 282 seats, 10 more than the majority mark of 272.

Therefore, there are the expectations that the results of DUSU election would be fruitful for Modi-led Bhartiya Janata Party in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
