CRPF personnel, civilian injured in Manipur IED blast

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a civilian have been injured an IED blast near the Manipur State Museum, near Imphal Polo Ground today.

The CRPF personnel was on daily routine Quick Reaction Team (QRT) guarding the Raj Bhavan when the blast happened.

The blast came hours after a militant attack in Kokrajhar, Assam where at least 13 civilians have been killed and more than 20 people sustained injuries after militant outfits belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) fired indiscriminately.

The gunbattle ensued when the armed extremists opened fired at a market around 12 kms from Kokhrajar.

This sudden incident of firing on people at a public place in broad daylight is first of its kind in the militancy-ravaged state.
