SSC CGL result 2016 to be declared at ssc.nic.in

The results of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 exam 2016 has been announced on the official website - ssc.nic.in 8 November.

The results were declared yesterday night while Modi announced his ban for Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

According to a notification published on the official website, "The result for CGLE (Tier-I) - 2016, in context of the revised schedule of the examination, is tentatively proposed to be declared on 8.11.2016, and that CGLE (Tier-II)-2016 would be tentatively held w.e.f. 30.11.2016 to 02.12.2016."

In a notice, the SSC Chairman stated: "The Commission assures all candidates of its best services and also stands by its commitment made to the candidates to declare the final result of CGLE-2016 by the end of April 2017 ( i.e. in a record time of eight months from the date of the Tier-I Exam which commenced on 27th August 2016)."

The SSC CGL examination is conducted for recruitment to Group B and Group C posts across various ministries, government departments and offices. This year, the Tier I computer-based exams were conducted from 27 August to 11 September. Over 38 lakh candidates registered for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam, of which 14.99 lakh candidates took the test in 44 batches in 96 cities across the country.

Once stage 1 results are out, shortlisted candidates will have to attempt an SSC CGL 2016 Tier-II exam - which will be held from 30 November to 2 December. The Tier-II exam consists of four papers: Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Statistics, Finance & Accounting and Economics & Governance.
