India coach Ravi Shastri cited that the Indian captain was "not a machine but a human being". Run Machine is one of the extraordinary batsman in modern era. Kohli suffered neck during Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL 2018 match against SunRisers Hyderabad on May 17, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed in a statement.

As per reported in Mumbai Mirror, Ravi Shastri cited that Kohli is a human, just like everyone else. “(He had to skip the county stint) because he is not a top dog. Virat Kohli was due to play for Surrey in six games in June, including three games in the County Championship.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli got ruled out of the county stint for Surrey due to a neck injury, ahead of England and Ireland tour.

“It’s hugely disappointing that Virat won’t be joining Surrey for the month of June but we understand injuries happen and we have to respect the decision of the BCCI medical team to pull him from his stint with us”- Alec Stewart, Surrey Director of Cricket

The 29-year old will experience physical recovery under the supervision of BCCI authorities one month from now. In an official statement on Thursday, the India cricket board communicated certainty that the batsman will be fit to return for the England visit.
