Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu is being trolled on social media for taking a u-turn on his retirement decision. Netizens are comparing Rayudu with former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi who came back from his retirement many times.

Ambati Rayudu took retirement from international cricket after his snub during the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Rayudu was kept as a reserve during the World Cup but when less experienced Mayank Agarwal was called as a replacement for injured Vijay Shankar, Rayudu announced his retirement on social media out of frustration.

“I would like to bring to your notice that I would like to come out of retirement and play cricket in all formats,” Rayudu said. “I want to take this opportunity to thank Chennai Super Kings, VVS Laxman and Noel David, who have been very supportive during the tough time and are instrumental in making me realise that I have enough cricket left in me,” Rayudu added.

Ambati Rayudu in his six-year-long career has played just 55 ODIs and 6 T20I. Rayudu has scored 1694 runs in ODI cricket at an average of 47.06 including 3 centuries and 10 half-centuries.
