Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s fitness is the utmost thing for team India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The World Cup is round the corner and BCCI wants every player to be fit who are in the squad. MS Dhoni suffered from stiff back before the Indian Premier League match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Dhoni did not play the game and Suresh Raina took over as captain for the day. Dhoni took rest from the game to recover. When asked about his injury after yesterday’s match against the same opposition Dhoni said, I am willing to miss few IPL matches here and there because I can’t take risk before the World Cup, which is the most important tournament for me.

This might be Dhoni’s last World Cup before he take retirement and this is why he wants to keep himself fit so he can give his best in the most coveted 50 over tournament in the world. MS Dhoni has won a World Cup for India as a captain in 2011 and he will look to do it again as a player. Dhoni is the only player in the world who has won all three major ICC trophies as a captain.

MS Dhoni is currently leading the IPL side Chennai Super Kings and his team is sitting at top of the points table. They have won every home matches they played at M Chidambaram stadium. CSK is looking good to qualify for the play-offs and can even win the league.
