Indian Cricket Team coach likely to be declared today

The most awaited decision about the Indian cricket team's new is likely to come on 10 July. The members of Advisory Committee Saurav Ganguly and VVS Laxman have reached to the BCCI head office. At the same time, Sachin Tendulkar is in London that’s why he will be joined through video conferencing.

Virendra Sehwag also reached to give an interview for the post.

Ravi Shastri, the former director of team India, is the front-runner but according to the sources, Sehwag may prove to be a great competitor for him.

The BCCI had already received 10 applications for the post of Indian team coach. Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Doda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput, Lance Klusener, Rakesh Sharma, Phil Simmons and Upendra Brahmachari had applied for this post. Out of 10 applicants, only 6 are shortlisted for an interview.

According to BCCI sources, apart from Shastri and Sehwag, interviews of Moody, Simons, Pybus and Rajput, Clujiner will also be held.

After the West Indies tournament, team India will fly to Sri Lanka for a tour on 26 July. This is the reason that the selection process of team coach will be finished on 10 July.

During Sri Lanka tournament, team India will play 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 1 T-20 matches.
