USA box office : Allu Arjun's Duvvada Jagannadham outperforms Salman Khan's Tubelight despite lesser screens

Thursday saw two of the major Indian films clashing at the USA box office. Bollywood film Salman Khan starrer Tubelight and Telugu film Allu Arjun's Duvvada Jagannadham. Though the Salman Khan starrer was expected to win the opening day battle, it's the Allu Arjun's action entertainer that won the box office race on day 1.

Duvvada Jagannadham has debuted at no 11 on its opening day where as the Tubelight opened at no 16 at the USA box office. The Allu Arjun starrer has minted a massive $ 526,355 while the Salman Khan starrer is said to have collected lower collections at the USA box office.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the update;

"Allu Arjun hits the ball out of the park... Telugu film #DJ #DuvvadaJagannadham starts with a BANG in USA... Debuts at No 11 at US BO. #DuvvadaJagannadham collects a SOLID $ 526,355 [₹ 3.39 cr] in USA till 5.20 pm IST... Much bigger start than #Tubelight [No 16 at USA BO]. First #Baahubali2... Now #DuvvadaJagannadham... The Telugu film industry is delivering BIGGG numbers... Dear Bollywood, wake up!"

It's a remarkable feat for Telugu Cinema considering that Duvvada Jagannadham was released in much lower screens compared to Tubelight.
