On the evening of 30 September, Salman Khan, at a press conference, lent his support to Pakistani artists working in India and commented that actors are not terrorists. His comment on the issue lead to a lot of backlash from various political leaders from MNS and Shiv Sena.

While Raj Thackeray from MNS advised Salman to consult his father before commenting on such politically sensitive issues, Manisha Kayande from Shiv Sena asked the actor to settle down in Pakistan.

"Salman Khan needs to be taught a lesson. If he has so much love for Pakistani artists, he should migrate there," said Kayande.

Salman Khan spoke about the on-going tension between the two countries which escalated after the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes at the LoC. At an event in Delhi, the actor was quoted saying,

"Ideally, it should have been a situation of peace between the two countries. Every action has a reaction and what happened now was our reaction to an action. At this stage, I think it would be better if we stay with a peace and spread love across the border. I think our action was proper because they were terrorists."
