Shivaay Box Office: Despite poor reviews, Ajay Devgn's film has a decent show at the ticket window

Shivaay's business was decent in the opening week as it raked in around Rs 6.00 crore on Thursday, taking the seven-day total close to Rs 70 crore.

The Ajay Devgn film fared best in mass centres like Central India, Rajasthan, Central Proveniences, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. However, the performance in the metros was not up to the mark.

Day-wise Box Office Collections:

  • Opening Weekend: Rs 45.91 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 11.05 crore
  • Wednesday: Rs 7.40 crore
  • Thursday: Rs 6.00 crore (early estimate)
  • Total: Rs 70.63 crore (early estimate)

Although Shivaay's collections are lesser than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the ticket sales are way higher due to the subsidised rates in the mass centres. The reviews were on the negative side with major critics rating it 0 and 1. However, the Box Office collections are not in complete congruence with the critics' ratings.

The audience word-of-mouth verdict is mixed and the film is now looking to end at collections above Rs 90 crore. It will be interesting to see if it manages to breach the Rs 100 crore mark.
