Shah Rukh Khan will be seen grooving to a garba song for a Makar Sankranti song in his upcoming film Raees.

A special track, Udi Udi has been added to celebrate the makara sankranti festival. SRK and Mahira Khan will be seen doing some garba steps on the song. It might be the first time that SRK has ever done garba.

The Udi Udi song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh who had sung one of the SRK's famous song Chaiyya Chaiyya from 'Dil Se' in 1998. Along with Sukhwinder's, Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sangathia's voice will also be heard in the song. The music is composed by Ram Sampath and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.

"Uttran is one of the biggest festivals in Gujarat and garba is our state dance. No film rooted in Gujarat can be complete without having either of them. A majority of the writers were gujaratis and we decided to incorporate a special song which also takes the story forward," says the Director Rahul Dholakia who is also a Gujarati.

A special manja (thread used for flying kites) was specially ordered from Surat, as SRK's character in the film loves to fly the kites and he is this champion at cutting other people's kites.

Dholakia says, "To give the authenticity to the scene, we decided to use Surti manjha which is quite sharp. A couple of times during the shoot he ended up injuring his fingers."
