Bengaluru: Shocking! Husband posts wife's personal details and contact numbers on dating sites; arrested

In a shocking yet shameful incident, a 35-year-old man allegedly posted wife's personal details and like photographs and contact details on dating websites in order to harass her. The man was later held by the cops after the woman starts receiving unknown calls from people seeking sexual favour and registered complaint.

The accused man, named Vinay hails from Thirthahalli in the Shivamogga district of north Bengaluru is a video editor at a private company. Police told TOI that the couple couldn't resolve their differences and hence, the wife had begun living separately.


As per the complaint papers, the man had planned to harass his wife and had hence, created a photograph of her using Photoshop and had allegedly posted her picture along with the contact number of the dating websites.

According to a woman, she was shocked when she started receiving calls from unknown people seeking sexual favours and approached the police. In a related case, a teenager boy allegedly created fake profiles of 10 girls from his class and on dating sites. The boy created profiles in order to take revenge on the girls because they had complained to the teachers about him.

In the fake profiles, the boy had the posted girls' pictures as well as their phone numbers. The boy was arrested after the father of one of the girls filed a complaint against him at Anand Vihar police station.

In a report by the Indian Express, the girl told the police that she had been receiving unknown calls at odd hours and that people were sending her obscene messages, videos and photographs for the past few weeks. Later, the investigation took them to the boy.
