Hit and run incident caught on camera; speeding car runs over 2 children in Maharashtra

Two children were left critically injured in a hit and run incident near Mumbai when a speeding car, rammed into them on 26 November.

The injured were immediately taken to the hospital. Six-year-old Jiya Kotak is in a critical condition and Parth Kotak, 8, has multiple fractures, reports NDTV.

A CCTV footage of the incident shows a speeding car running over the two children and then fleeing the spot.

According to the report, the driver behind the wheels has been identified as Dilip Gunjal, a school teacher.

Gujal has been arrested by Thane Police and a case has been filed against him for rash driving, says the report.

As per the report, Gunal who will be presented in the court today, has claimed that was not drunk and pressed accelerator instead of brakes.
