Delhi Violence: Journalist shot at, two other reporters attacked by armed mob in national capital

Three journalists were seriously attacked and many others were threatened by armed mobs during the riot in Delhi. While journalist Akash, reporting for JK 24x7 was shot at in east Delhi’s Maujpur on Tuesday.

Two reporters reporting for NDTV were also thrashed by the mob when they were reportedly filming a mosque that had been set ablaze. The NDTV’s Arvind Gunasekar and Saurabh Shukla were reportedly laid off after a female journalist implored the mob. They were rushed to a hospital and were receiving medical aid.


According to a tweet by NDTV’s Nidhi Razdan, the mob only stopped thrashing them after realising they are our people—Hindus.

Saurabh Shukla later tweeted to say the he and is colleague Arvind Gunasekar are fine.

This is just the latest in a series of attacks on journalist since the riot cropped up in the national capital on Sunday.
